Do Doctors Prescribe Apps?

Entrepreneurship is hard. All those blog posts you read about the ups and downs are absolutely true. But so are the parts about affecting change and disrupting conventional workflows. And that’s what makes me smile every morning when I look at my Socialize feed in GI Monitor and see things like “My GI recommended it” and “my nurse suggested this app”.

Yes, clinicians do prescribe apps. And this will only become more commonplace over time.

My GI doc told me about this app a couple years ago. He had an iPhone and I thought it was only available through that OS. When it was time to upgrade my cell phone and I saw that this app was also available in the Android Market, I knew I was definitely going for the full upgrade to a better smart phone. I use this app every day and the Socialize area is awesome. At my last GI appointment, my doc told me to, "Stay in touch," and I knew he meant for me to keep emailing him my GI Monitor reports!
